CHEVROLET THAILAND CONDUCTS NATIONAL SKILLS CONTEST TO BOOST SKILLS OF DEALERSHIP STAFF AND BETTER SERVE CUSTOMERS

BANGKOK, THAILAND – Chevrolet Thailand recently organized the 8th edition of its National Skills Contest for its dealership sales and aftersales teams at the Chevrolet Training Center in Nonthaburi.

The National Skills Contest is a program conducted by Chevrolet for its dealers to assess, recognize and reward the best performing service technicians, sales consultants, service advisors and dealer customer relations representatives in Thailand.

“The National Skills Contest helps foster a culture of excellence across our dealerships and reflects our commitment to the Chevrolet Complete Care customer promise. The continuous training and skills development of our sales and aftersales teams is key to delivering impeccable service to our customers in Thailand,” said Hector Villarreal, GM Southeast Asia president.

This year, 52 participants – the best performers in their respective geographical areas – were put through a series of challenges testing their product knowledge, sales, aftersales, technical skills and ability to provide solutions.

The sales and service assessment methodology span multiple stations covering knowledge tests, product demonstrations and situation-based scenarios like vehicle delivery to customers.

The assessment for technicians also spans multiple stations covering vehicle diagnosis, as well as testing and measurement procedures on various electrical and mechanical stations. For the vehicle diagnosis section, technicians worked on Chevrolet Colorado and Trailblazer, both built at GM’s Rayong plant, and demonstrated technical service readiness for All-New Captiva maintenance service in the future.

The 15 winners of the National Skills Contest received a certificate, plaque and prizes.
