DRIVEN TO ACHIEVE: CHEVROLET THAILAND WELCOMES MEDIA TO TEST DRIVE ALL-NEW CAPTIVA SUV

     BANGKOK, THAILAND –This week, Chevrolet Thailand welcomed media to the “Driven to Achieve” test drive of the All-New Chevrolet Captiva, highlighting the “3S” philosophy of Chevrolet’s SUVs: Space, Style and Smart Technology.

     Officially going on-sale October 4, The All-New Captiva starts at less than 1 million baht and is now available for booking, with a very special pre-sale offer for early customers*. For a limited number of customers, Chevrolet Thailand is offering the Captiva LS with a 40,000 THB discount, while LT and Premier models come with free scheduled maintenance for the first 50,000km or 30 months of motoring. This offer also includes a special 1.89-percent interest rate finance offer and one-year free first-class insurance across the Captiva range.

     But this special pre-booking offer is only available from September 10, 2019 to October 6, 2019 so customers have to move fast!

     The All-New Captiva is one of the most spacious and best value SUVs on the market, combining cutting-edge styling with smart technology to appeal to both compact and full-size SUV customers. It joins a Chevrolet lineup that already includes American-style Colorado pickup trucks and Trailblazer SUVs in dealerships nationwide.

     The test drive took media along winding scenic roads from Bangkok to Hua Hin with stops at Monsoon Valley Vineyard and other points of interest, underlining Captiva’s capability to handle open roads and weekend getaways, as well as city traffic.

     The program provided participants ample opportunity to experience Captiva’s key features, such as its 10.4-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet Link infotainment system with Android smartphone integration capability, Infinity by Harman sound system, USB charging, 360° view camera, panoramic sunroof, and one of the roomiest and versatile interiors on the market.

     In an activity inspired by the Netflix thriller “Bird Box”, participants used Captiva’s 360° view camera to safely maneuver the SUV into a parking spot without being able to look through the blacked-out windows. They were able to do this because the technology uses cameras around the vehicle to show its proximity to surrounding objects on Captiva’s touchscreen. So it’s just as useful maneuvering into tight parking spaces in congested city streets.

     In an activity inspired by the Tetris video game, participants competed in a cargo packing challenge that highlighted Captiva’s impressive capacity – up to 587 liters, or equivalent to five large suitcases.

     Revealed earlier this year at the Bangkok International Motor Show where it won the coveted “Most Exciting New Product Award 2019,” the All-New Captiva is notable for a number of features, technologies and competitive advantages:

  • Its advanced 1.5L turbocharged engine is rated at 143 hp (105 kW) and 250 Nm, making Captiva among the class leaders for torque in the petrol SUV-C segment.
  • The engine is mated to a smooth and efficient CVT (continuously variable transmission), making it the first Chevrolet vehicle to use a CVT in Thailand.
  • The SUV offers segment-leading leg- and headroom in the second row and when configured with 7-seats offers a third row large and comfortable enough for adults to easily travel long distances.
  • Captiva’s futuristic design reflects Chevrolet’s global SUV styling, leverages the latest technologies, and is inspired by the U.S. Air Force F-35 stealth fighter jet

Free scheduled maintenance for the first 50,000km or 30 months of motoring (whichever comes first) covers spare parts and service cost in accordance with the maintenance schedule defined in warranty book, including windshield wipers, brake pad and battery change (one time), valued at 21,006 THB. Free scheduled maintenance for All-New Captiva LT and Premier only for the first 700 customers who book All-New Captiva LS or Premier and make register for the promotion an authorized Chevrolet dealership, valid September 10, 2019 - October 6, 2019.
