CHEVROLET THAILAND ANNOUNCES ALEK TEERADETCH AS AMBASSADOR FOR ALL-NEW CAPTIVA; LAUNCHES ROAD SHOW AND SOCIAL MEDIA COMPETITION

BANGKOK, THAILAND – Chevrolet Thailand today announced Alek Teeradetch Metawarayut, the actor, as ambassador for the All-New Captiva SUV, now available at dealerships nationwide. The star of Ch3 Thailand’s Wai Sab Saraek Kad 2 (“Broken2”) and Nee Ruk Nai Krong Fai will make public appearances at the “Chevrolet Bold Your Way” road shows, starting at Fashion Island on Saturday, October 5 and The Mall Bangkae on Sunday, October 6. He also will feature the SUV in his YouTube series “Alek’s Food”.

“The All-New Captiva really matches my on-the-go lifestyle. I plan to drive it a lot in the coming months, and feature it on my social media channels. This is going to be fun,” said Mr. Teeradetch.

Chevrolet Thailand also is launching a nationwide competition to find The All-New Captiva social ambassador who will be a reviewer for Chevrolet. The competition runs October 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019, and the winner will be announced on January 24, 2020 at https://www.chevrolet.co.th/ and Chevrolet Facebook Fan page at 12:00.

The winner will be named “The All-New Captiva Social Ambassador”, receive a monetary reward of 20,000 THB per month (paid monthly) and get the All-New Captiva to drive for one year (including first-class insurance, but not including petrol cost). The winner will be required to produce two All-New Captiva videos for social media posts each month for one year. See contest details for all requirements.

The competition calls for contestants to create either a photo or video review of the All-New Captiva at a Road Show or at a Chevrolet dealership showroom using the displayed vehicle. The theme of the reviews must be “Achievement Favors the Bold” and contestants must answer the question “Which features in All-New-Captiva can help you achieve anything in life and Why?” Then, contestants must post the photo or video to their social media channel using a Thai hashtag #แคปติวากล้าท้ารีวิว

Chevrolet Thailand will select five finalists based on highest engagement (most Likes, Comments and Shares) from Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, and will select the winner.

At the Road Shows, social media contestants and visitors in general can use an iPad or smartphone to scan a QR code on display to view an augmented reality 360-degree rendering of the Captiva to learn more about the vehicle. The 3D experience also allows visitors to decorate an image of the vehicle and have their photo combined with it for use on social media. Participants will receive a Captiva souvenir.

The “Chevrolet Bold Your Way” Road Shows include:

  • October 2-8: Fashion Island, 1st Floor, Bangkok (*Alek appears on October 5)
  • October 2-8: The Mall Bangkae, Fashion Hall, Floor G, Bangkok (*Alek appears on October 6)
  • October 10-16: Central Ladprao, 1st Floor, Bangkok (*Alek appears on October 12)
  • October 7-13: Central Chonburi, 1st Floor (*Alek appears on October 12)
  • October 8-13: Central Khonkaen, 1st Floor (*Alek appears on October 13)
  • November 1-5: Central Festival Chiangmai, G Floor
  • November 7-13: The Mall Korat, Fashion Hall, 1st Floor (*Alek appears on November 10)

This is the second time Mr. Teeradetch and Chevrolet Thailand have teamed up. The actor previously worked with the brand in 2012, appearing in a TV commercial for Chevrolet Cruze.
