BANGKOK, THAILAND – Chevrolet Sales Thailand has partnered with Manchester United, organizing a special media event in Bangkok to announce the winners of the 2017 Chevrolet Fan Cup, the activity Chevrolet continues for the second consecutive year for fans who show their love and passion for the club through a social media contest. Manchester United Ambassador, Bryan Robson and club legend, Mikael Silvestre participated in the event to congratulate 5 Thai winners who are preparing for the dream journey to England later this month.

Thai football fans, especially Man United followers, love to see Red Devils heroes such as Bryan Robson and Mikael Silvestre in the country. The media event and the Chevrolet Fan Cup competition demonstrate Chevrolet’s commitment to bringing football fans closer to the beautiful game and fulfil their dreams,” said Wail A. Farghaly, Managing Director of GM and Chevrolet Thailand.

During their stay in Thailand the legends used Chevrolet Trailblazer premium SUVs, experiencing the car’s active and passive safety features. The Trailblazer is one of the best handling SUVs in the Pickup-based Passenger Vehicle segment.

At the event, held at Polo Football Park, former captain Bryan Robson, who played for United from 1981-1993, and Mikael Silvestre, who won five English Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League with United, met media and winners of the 2017 Chevrolet Fan Cup competition.

Also, media got a chance to show their unique skills in the ‘Reverse Footy’ challenge. Media had GoPro camera attached at the back, and watched live view through VR headset. All they had to do was listening to the legends’ coaching and scoring a goal. The challenge was designed to reflect the Trailblazer’s Rear Vision Camera and Front and Rear Parking Assist.

The 5 winners from Thailand will join Chevrolet Fan Cup winners from Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Korea and Middle East in a trip of a lifetime to Manchester, England, to compete in a tournament at Manchester United’s home ground Old Trafford. While in Manchester, the winners will also attend Manchester United’s English Premier League match against Crystal Palace, meet team legends and be attend the club’s famed Manchester United Soccer School at the first team training facilities at the Aon Training Complex.

The highlight of their experience will be dressing in the players’ locker room and walking through the tunnel on 20 May to compete in the Chevrolet Fan Cup competition on the Old Trafford pitch.

The 2017 Chevrolet Fan Cup was organized by Chevrolet in January for fans in nine markets to show their support for Manchester United through a social media contest. The 5 winners from Thailand, who submitted the most impressive photos or videos, were selected based on their creativity, passion and caption. All of them are lifelong Manchester United fans and agree that visiting Old Trafford is the supreme dream for all Red Devils.
