The special class was organized to enhance students’ basic knowledge in environment and waste management. In addition to the special class, two drawing contests themed ‘My Sport’ and ‘Environment’ were also organized for students from kindergarten and primary to high-school levels. GM also donated 50 indestructible One World Futbols and art supplies to the school.

Speaking at the event, Samarth Pingkanont, Worldwide Facilities Group Director, GM Thailand, said, “As a part of our sustained CSR and community outreach initiatives, the Chumchon Borrisat Namtan Tawanoke School has been receiving our support since 2010. Today’s activities are in addition to our ongoing efforts with the school and we hope the agenda today will provide the children with excitement and fun while enhancing their knowledge in environmental management.”

Headmistress Mrs. Bussayarat Phankruebuth added, “We appreciate that GM and Chevrolet see the importance of kindergarten, primary and secondary-level community schools. On behalf of the school, I would like to express our gratitude to GM and Chevrolet for the education, gifts and supplies to our students in conjunction with National Children’s Day. Our students will have an opportunity to improve on both sports and arts in the future.

Since 2010, and as a part of its sustained community outreach program, GM has reached out to the school to provide various forms of support including renovating the school’s library, constructing a common building, building a waste segregation area and starting a nursery for vegetable farming.
