BANGKOK, THAILAND – More power, more capability, more technology… when it comes to pickup trucks, Chevrolet knows that more of everything is a good thing. So, the iconic American brand has added more choices for Colorado customers with a heroic new color for its top-of-the-line 2019 Colorado High Country STORM, a new array of “Thunder” accessory packs across the range and expanded availability of advanced active safety technologies to more Colorado trims.

Chevrolet Thailand recently welcomed members of the press to “Challenge Your Superpower” at an exclusive pre-launch reveal of the latest Colorado High Country STORM pickup truck with “Orange Crush” hero color, held on the rooftop of Fortune Town in downtown Bangkok with an orange sunset providing the perfect backdrop.

STORM will be available in eight colors: new Orange Crush, Blue Me Away, Pull Me Over Red, Black Meet Kettle Metallic, Summit White, Satin Steel Grey Metallic, Auburn Brown Metallic, and a second, mysterious new color to be revealed at the 39th Bangkok International Motor Show on 27 March.

In addition, Chevrolet used a special “Orange Crush” Colorado show car to highlight its expanded “Thunder” accessory packs, with exterior options including:

  • Fender Flares

  • Black Bowtie Rear
  • Under Rail Bed Liner
  • Side Steps
  • Black Grill
  • End Gate Decal
  • Fuel Cover

The full list of the expanded Colorado “Thunder” accessory packs is listed in the supplied Fact Sheet, on Chevrolet Thailand’s Media Online website and on the Chevrolet Thailand website.

But the ability to personalize doesn’t stop with Colorado’s exterior, customers can also put their own touch on the interior with orange interior package including:

  • IP insert (orange)
  • Transmission Shifter Bezel
  • Air Vent Bezels
  • Door Trim Inserts (orange)

The “Thunder” packs are available separately from the stylish High Country STORM package that includes: sport bar, 18-inch alloy wheels, hood decal sticker with High Country logo, outside rearview mirror, door handles, tailgate handle, outer belt molding, rear bumper with parking sensors, and STORM body decals – all in striking black finish.

The special superhero “Orange Crush” High Country STORM unveiled at Chevrolet media event showcases on one vehicle all the different Colorado accessory options available to customers, including a special-order hood scoop. The “Thunder” packs offer outstanding value for customers by grouping together popular accessory items at a great price, but each of the accessories showcased on the “Orange Crush” show vehicle are available individually.

“Vehicle personalization is one of the strongest trends in our industry, with aftermarket accessory sales expected to see robust growth for years to come,” said Piyanuch Chaturaphat, General Director of Sales and Marketing Chevrolet Thailand.

“More than 50 percent of Colorado customers in Thailand choose to accessorize their vehicles. Appearance packages such as ‘Thunder’ is just one way our Colorado customers express their personal style – another is with their choice in exterior color, one of the top considerations when purchasing any vehicle.” Ms. Chaturaphat said.

The High Country STORM, a model designed and developed specifically for Thailand – one of the world’s leading pickup truck markets – is packed with innovative features, performance, comfort, safety, and tough masculine style.

“At Chevrolet, customer safety and satisfaction are our top priorities,” said Ms. Chaturaphat. “By making our advanced active safety technology available on more of our models, we aim to provide our customers with the best possible ownership experience.”

With customer safety and satisfaction in mind, Chevrolet will introduce several advanced active safety features on the hot-selling X-Cab LT Z71 and C-Cab LT Z71 (manual and automatic) models of Colorado, including Trailer Sway Control (TSC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-Rolling Protection (ARP), Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).

High Country STORM and High Country Colorados continue to offer the most advanced active safety technology package in the class with: Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Front and Rear Parking Assist, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System.

High Country STORM is already equipped with a wide array of convenience features, including reverse camera that aids maneuvering in tight urban confines, auto rain sensors, and automatic headlamp on/off. In addition, its first-in-class remote-start electronic key has been redesigned for 2019 Colorado, which still allows users to cool the cabin before getting in.

The truck also continues to offer the latest generation of Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system, Siri Eyes Free voice recognition service, the Apple CarPlay application, and front windows that automatically drop a fraction to facilitate door closing.

“Great color and trims – along with technology, performance and durability – on a muscular pickup truck like Colorado gives the impression of a superhero costume and, in effect, expresses the superhero within all of us – the best version of ourselves – every time we get behind the wheel,” said Ms. Chaturaphat.

Last year marked a major milestone for Chevrolet: the 100th anniversary of building and selling pickup trucks around the world, and a year in which Colorado saw 32 percent sales growth year-over-year in Thailand. This momentum has carried on into 2018, with overall Chevrolet sales up by nearly 18 percent in the first two months of this year, driven by outstanding Colorado sales growth of nearly 22 percent across January and February.

Chevrolet is presenting the Colorado High Country STORM in “Orange Crush”, along with another super new color, to the public at the 39th Bangkok International Motor Show, March 27 - April 8, with the full 2019 Colorado range available in Chevrolet dealerships starting May 1.
