CHEVROLET COMMENCES SALE OF NEWEST TRUCK ICON

BANGKOK, THAILAND – 100 years after the start of sales of Chevrolet’s first truck, the 1918 One-Ton, Chevrolet Sales Thailand today kicked off sales of its new icon, the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado Centennial Edition.

The 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition is part of the celebration of the American brand, which has produced classic trucks such as the 1958 Apache 3100 Series, 1988 C/K1500 and Colorado High Country STORM– revolutionizing the perception of trucks.

Based on the award-winning 2018 Colorado High Country and LTZ models, the 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition marries tough design with rugged performance. It features segment-leading technology and connectivity, including the latest-generation Chevrolet MyLink and Siri Eyes Free voice recognition system.

Built in Rayong, the 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition is powered by a 2.5L Duramax four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. It celebrates Chevrolet’s truck heritage and is inspired by different generations of Chevrolet Trucks. Each iconic truck features its own vehicle build number displayed as a badge on the inside of its door, a heritage bowtie, a 100-year Chevrolet badge, unique hood decals, 18-inch black wheels, a bedliner and a fender flare. The LTZ model also features a black-color sports bar.

Only 100 Colorado Centennial Edition vehicles have been produced for Thailand to celebrate 100 years of Chevrolet Trucks.

Speaking at the 34th Thailand International Motor Expo (Motor Expo 2017), GM Southeast Asia Vice President of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing Sumito Ishii said: “To celebrate our 100th anniversary of trucks, we wanted to launch a model that our customers would love. We have taken an award-winning truck in the 2018 Colorado and bettered it with design cues and badges from our 100-year heritage. This is a truck that our customers will be proud to own and drive.”

He added, “Many of our customers are long-term Chevrolet owners. It is a testament to the quality of the brand that some of them are still driving trucks that are many generations old. With the 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition, we have built a truck that we believe our multi-generational Chevrolet owners will thoroughly enjoy.”

With a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT), the 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition produces 132 kW (180 PS) of power at 3,600 rpm and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque at a low 2,000 rpm. The Euro 4-compliant engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with a choice of two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

The iconic truck is priced from THB 814,000 for the Colorado 2.5L 2WD X-Cab MT Centennial Edition to THB 1,103,000 for the Colorado 2.5L 2WD High Country Centennial Edition. The Colorado 2.5L 2WD X-Cab and C-Cab MT Centennial Edition come in both Summit White and Blue Me Away Metallic, while the Colorado 2.5L 2WD and 4WD C-Cab High Country Centennial Edition are available in Summit White.

Customers looking to test drive the 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition can do so at the Motor Expo 2017, while those wishing to buy the pickup truck will be able to get their fortunes told by renowned fortune-teller Katha Shinabanchorn on December 2 and 3 – with a limit of 10 customers per day.

In addition, customers will benefit from Chevrolet Complete Care. The aftersales service program includes 24/7 Roadside Assistance, a three-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty, Chevy Mobile Service, Call Center 1734 and Chevy Plus services.
