Three “Car of the Year 2015” Awards

  • Chevrolet Colorado, Trailblazer and Spin recognized as cars of the year 2015
  • Colorado wins the Best High-Lift Pickup under 3,200cc while Trailblazer wins the Best PPV Diesel 4WD under 3,200cc and Spin wins the Best MPV under 1,600cc

BANGKOK, THAILAND – Chevrolet Sales Thailand’s range of products have been recognized once again in the annual Car of the Year Awards organized by Grand Prix International, the organizer of Bangkok International Motor Show. Three models from Chevrolet’s portfolio including the Colorado pickup truck, Trailblazer PPV and Spin MPV were chosen as cars of the year in the respective categories.

The Chevrolet Colorado 2.8 Duramax LTZ C-Cab Z71 was chosen as the “Best High-Lift Pickup under 3,200cc” while the Chevrolet Trailblazer 2.8 LTZ Z71 was chosen as the “Best PPV Diesel 4WD Under 3,200cc.” Chevrolet Spin beat its competitors to win the “Best MPV under 1,600cc” category.

This is the second time in a row for Colorado and Trailblazer have won Car of The Year awards. 

“Thank you to Grand Prix International and its panel of judges for the awards. The timing is just perfect as we have just launched the new Colorado, our award-winning models,” said Una Tan, Marketing Director, Chevrolet Sales Thailand.

“The High Country variant of the Colorado, launched just recently and the new Trailblazer launched last month are premium and upmarket versions of the most popular models in our lineup,” Tan added.

According to Tan, one of Chevrolet’s priorities include listening to the voice of customers and in certain cases, customer feedbacks are incorporated into model upgrades including to our services as Chevrolet’s answer to customers’ requirements. The High Country and new Trailblazer are but two examples of Chevrolet responding to customer requirements.

High Country introduces a new level of premium to the pickup segment in Thailand. As the premium variant, it now sports Dark Chrome Mask headlamps, dual tone light grey and black grille and nudge bar, and a glossy B-pillar veneer. Other features include transverse roof-rack bars, a stylized sports bar, chromed rear-door belt-line molding and mirror scalps, chromed/blackened tailgate handle and 18-inch wheels.

Inside, High Country features electrically-powered six-way adjustable driver’s seat, premium-grade “Brown Stone” leather and glossy piano-black trim for the dashboard, center console and steering wheel. It is also equipped with smart media system, a rear view camera with dynamic guideline technology and rear parking sensor.

The premium touches and features are also available on the recently-launched Trailblazer. Additionally, the new full-size PPV offers a proven powertrain, seven-seat spaciousness and multi-functionality with the addition of a new body color, enhanced soundproofing and a more luxurious interior.

Meanwhile, the Spin continues to offer an MPV with unique design, flexibility, agility, spaciousness and efficiency in a compact package, perfectly suited for the congested confines of urban commute, yet a joy to drive on open roads.

Chevrolet’s award-winning models, along with other offerings are currently on display with special promotions at Chevrolet booth located at A12 in the 36th Bangkok International Motor Show 2015 is open to the public from March 25 to April 5, 2015 from 12:00 – 22:00 hrs. daily. The event is located at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, Thailand.

Visitors to Chevrolet’s booth can also experience a special, virtual-reality attraction called “The Delivery.” In “The Delivery,” participants are seated in the front passenger seat of a specially prepared Colorado and take part in an incredible and mysterious off-road adventure in the backcountry of New Zealand. The simulation uses advanced technology to track head movement, allowing participants to look around the virtual world just as one would in real life, according them all the experience and engagement with the award-winning Colorado.
