Chevrolet Wins Two TAQA’s Awards Outstanding Image – ‘Fun to Drive and Excellent Driving Control’

BANGKOK, Thailand – Chevrolet has been recognized by Thailand Automotive Quality Award (TAQA) for Outstanding Image in two categories – Fun to Drive and Excellent Driving Control, presented at the 29th Thailand International Motor Expo 2012. The awards clearly underline Chevrolet’s distinctive European driving dynamics.

Chevrolet Sales Thailand was titled ‘Outstanding Image – Fun to Drive and Excellent Driving control’ by 2012 Thailand Automotive Quality Award (TAQA) as a result of customer satisfaction surveys initiated since 2002 by the Custom Asia, Thailand Productivity Institute, Manager ASTV newspaper, and the organizer of Thailand International Motor Expo.

Award results are based on phone surveys of 6,400 vehicle users across 76 provinces in Thailand. The survey includes 12 leading auto brands and 45 vehicle nameplates. With the unique and complete range of products that include Chevrolet Cruze, Aveo, Captiva, Colorado, Trailblazer and the latest line up – the Sonic, TAQA’s customer choice awards reflect Chevrolet’s commitment to build class-leading precision handling and performance.

“For the awards that Chevrolet received, we used a brand mapping technique to get these results. We interviewed actual users of vehicles what brand they thought about when they were given the words ‘Fun to drive’ and ‘Excellent Driving Control’, and the most common response was Chevrolet. This shows that these are possibly the most characteristic features that customers relate to the Chevrolet brand,” said Sukit Tanskul, CEO of Custom Asia, the company responsible for conducting the surveys.

TAQA’s Outstanding Image – Fun to Drive and Excellent Driving awards also show Chevrolet’s strength which is a key factor in addition to aftersales service and sales initiative, which was recently recognized by J.D. Power, that drive Chevrolet to record-breaking and highly-successful 2012.

“To be a brand of choice especially in the ‘Fun to Drive and Excellent Driving’ aspects are truly a great honour. TAQA’s customer surveys show our capacity to leverage driving characteristic in every segment.” said Antonio Zara, Vice President, Sales Marketing and Aftersales, GM Thailand/SEA and Chevrolet Sales Thailand. “There are 12 auto brands and to be among the top for 2012 is truly outstanding. We are very proud of being awarded.”

“We will continue to provide cars that creates customer satisfaction and generate enthusiasm. Winning the TAQAs tells us that we are on the right track,” said Antonio Zara.
