Chevrolet Captiva Received The Best Eco-Friendly Diesel Vehicle Award 2012 from The Ministry of Environment (KLH) Republic of Indonesia

Indonesia - Chevrolet Captiva Diesel 2.0L AWD FL one of the lineup mainstays of PT General Motors (GM) Indonesia, has received an award as the best eco-friendly diesel vehicle with the lowest gas emission awarded by the Ministry of Environment (KLH) Republic of Indonesia in the Blue Sky Expose Program 2012.
The award received by Captiva Diesel 2.0L AWD FL was categorized under the evaluation of quality standard of gas emission of new motor vehicle type. The activity is aimed to boost the automotive industry to produce low gas emission motor vehicle based on the best available technology.
The parameters that were evaluated through random sampling consisted of the emission gases of CO, CO2, HC, PM and NOx, including fuel consumption (carbon balance). The measurement results were compared with the low gas emission score referred to the Ministerial Decree of Environment No. 252 Year of 2004 on the Rank of Evaluation Result of Gas Emission of New Motor Vehicle Type.
The award was presented directly by the State Minister of Environment, Prof. Dr. Balthasar Kambuaya, MBA to PT GM Indonesia, which represented by Maria Sidabutar, Director of Public Relations PT GM Indonesia in Jakarta today.
“The award from the Ministry of KLH is a proof of Chevolet’s commitment to support the Government program in lowering the air pollution and to create the blue sky – the Government acknowledged our effort through one of our mainstay lineups marketed in Indonesia i.e. Chevrolet Captiva 2.0L AWD FL,” said Maria Sidabutar, Director of Public Relations PT GM Indonesia.
“We hope that the Indonesian people will comprehend better on how important to keep the environment quality, especially by lowering the air pollution in sustainable manner by only utilizing the vehicle that has gone meticulous testing and has proofed its eco-friendly benefits like the one showed by Chevrolet Captiva,” Maria added.
Chevrolet Captiva was initially marketed in Indonesia back in 2007 – since its presence in the national automotive market, the Chevrolet Captiva has received a wide continuous recognition from the consumers and automotive players until today.
In Thailand and Indonesia, the Captiva is also available with a 2.4-litre Flex-fuel engine which is capable of using E85. A total of 10,296 units of the Captiva have been sold in Thailand in 2012 (Jan-Nov). The Captiva is the first SUV in the thai market to feature a six-speed gearbox mated to a Flex Fuel engine.
